Description
A Pair of Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze Mounted Marquetry Pedestals After the Model by Joseph-Emmanuel Zwiener
20th Century
Height 50 x width 18 1/2 x depth 18 1/2 inches.
Condition
The marble tops do not rotate; they are removable, but in a fixed position. There are no missing bronze mounts. There are no noticeably missing nails holding the bronze, but it is possible that a few are missing and not noticeable. None of the bronze mounts are loose, however. No cracks or chips on the marble; a few slightly rough edges and small surface scratches. The marble tops are probably original to the pedestals; the pedestals are very fine quality but date to the later 20th century. One pedestal has a faint age crack forming through the marquetry on one side, as well as a small dent visible in the marquetry. Otherwise, the wood veneers are in good, attractive condition with polished patina. A few small greenish oxidized spots on bronze surfaces. Marble tops measure 14 7/8 inches x 14 7/8 inches.
