Condition
In fair and stable condition overall. Light dust to the surfaces of each, one with a couple small spots of white paint. Each with slight fading to the blue along raised edges in the neck and underside of body, and with significant loss to gold decoration in these areas as well. Cracking to the gold surrounding the painted images. Craquelure to the imagery. The foot of each has cracking to the blue glaze and glow brightly under UV light, suggesting a veneer has been applied to these section to keep the glaze intact. Examination under UV light also shows small instances of retouch or over-painting in the imagery, mostly minor with exception of a portion on the body of the cherub in one example. Water marks and scattered dots of discoloration to the metal portions. See attached images for further reference to condition. Electricity not tested.
