Circa 1790-1800
Height 32 x width 55 x depth 36 1/2 inches.
Property from the Estate of Nicholas Peay, Cleveland Heights, Ohio
Condition
Dimensions of kneehole: Height 24 1/2 x width 19 1/2 inches.

In overall good, stable, attractive condition. Old scuffs, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. Some scattered loss to cockbeading on side with drawers, particularly to base trim of long drawers. The leather top appears in overall good, stable condition with a few marks and small areas of discoloration. The lock mechanisms have been replaced, restoration to key escutcheons on drawers is visible when inspecting closely. Knopped elements of brass pulls have left indents on drawers. Invoice from dealer dates this desk to circa 1790-1800. Desk appears to be 19th century but possibly not as early (18th century) as invoice suggests. Additional images available upon request.
