Note:
Stained glass designer and painter Leo P. Frohe worked as a manager of the Buffalo Stained Glass Works during the last quarter of the nineteenth century. During his time with the company, his design work was represented at the 1889 Paris World's Fair, earning a silver medal and esteemed recognition. In 1895, Frohe went on to establish his own firm, Frohe Art Glass. The two windows included in this lot were originally located in the Frohe family home in Buffalo, New York. The window depicting American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was located in a small library off the living room, while the other was located on a stairwell landing near the front entry of the home.
