Description
A Scottish Gilt Bronze Mounted Ebonized Bracket Clock
Dial Marked Hamilton Crichton and Co., Edinburgh, 19th Century
Height 26 x width 16 1/2 x depth 13 1/2 inches.
Property from a Private Collector, Lincolnwood, Illinois
Condition
Having a triple fusée movment with a 10-bell array with an additional hour gong coil. The escutcheon on front door detached but retained. The front door is pulling away from top hinges, in need to stabilization prior to use. Lacking a winding key. The central and right fusée take a wind (from a borrowed key) but the left fusée does not. Works appear intact but not tested for accuracy nor duration. Mallets strike the bells but some bells slightly misaligned causing them to "clank" when struck. Additional images available upon request.
