8vo. Original calf-backed cloth, gilt-lettered on cover and spine; original cloth slipcase.
LIMITED EDITION, number 80 of 100 copies SIGNED BY BECKETT. First published in 1934, More Pricks than Kicks is a compilation of short stories that follow the life of main character Belacqua Shuah from his school days through to his accidental death. Beckett wrote an additional story for the work, "Echo's Bones," at the suggestion of his Chatto editor Charles Prentice; in it, Belacqua returns from the dead. Prentice ultimately rejected the story which remained unpublished until 2014. See Federman & Fletcher 16 (note).
