A Chinese Silver and Carved Jade Table Cigarette Lighter Identified to Eleanor Roosevelt
Allan Adler (American, 1916-2002) for Solomon and Gustave Gump
supported by a gimbal frame and marked S. & G. Gump / Sterling to underside, accompanied by a supporting document signed by Allan Adler attesting that the lighter is one of a pair that Gumps Co. commissioned me to make for Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt during the time that she was the First Lady, in the White House.

Condition
In overall fine condition, with functioning gimbal frame. Minor scratches and wear to silver, with one old heavy scratch near jade mount. Naturally occurring fissure to jade most noticeable to underside of handle.
