The undersides are covered in a gold-leaf wallpaper that, according to the designer's website, is produced of a gold-leaf applied to paper.
In overall good, usable condition. Old scuffs, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. Scattered nicks to edges of top and sides with minor loss to paint, not largely noticeable unless viewed closely. The "wallpaper" underside with areas of lifting from structure.
