A Louis XVI Provincial Green-Painted and Parcel Gilt Mirror
Late 18th Century

This lot is located in Chicago.
Condition
Appears to retain early mirror plate, possibly original. In overall fairly good and stable conditoin. The mirror plate intact with few very light surface marks and one small area of chips from abrasion. Having one faint patch of wear to the silver backing near the center along the right edge and some minor faint patterns elsewhere, as typical of age. Exhibiting rubbing to gilt decoration exposing red bole beneath. The crest having scattered instances of loss to gesso, but design is otherwise intact and stable. No additional provenance is known for this lot.
