A Biedermeier Karelian Birch Fall-Front Secretary
Circa 1810
Height 63 1/2 x width 44 3/4 x depth 22 1/4 inches.
This lot is located in Chicago.
Condition
Appears in overall good and stable condition. Veneers are in good, highly polished condition, lightly faded finish and light in color. The interior with marquetry inlays and veneers. Inside of the fall front, The middle drawer on the proper right hand side interior is slightly out of square, this does not seem in impact the operation or movement of the drawer. Lacking a key for the central square paneled door. Beneath the fall front, The lower three drawers are lacking lock mechanisms but retain their eschuteon plates. Small instances of loss to the veneer in the proper lower right- hand side corner and in the upper left hand molding of the cornice.
