A Chippendale Carved Mahogany Reverse Serpentine Block-Front Desk
Massachusetts, Circa 1780
appears to retain the original pulls, the bottom one to two inches of each foot has been ended out and patched, though this seems to be a fairly early repair.

Condition
In overall fine and stable condition. Appears to retain the original drawer pulls, hinges and lock mechanisms, though lacking keys. Retaining a fairly even refinished surface and patina throughout. Appears to retain the original drawer runners, though one is loose. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. A few small age cracks visible on either side of the case. The lid and the top are lightly faded to the exterior while the inside of the desk retains a rich, dark color. The bottom one to two inches of each foot has been ended out and patched, though this seems to be a fairly early repair. The lopers are replaced. The two bottom drawers show small triangular patches to the veneer in the lower left corner of each, approx. 1" x 1" x 2".
