Lesieur, Paris, Circa 1820
both dial and movement signed Lesieur, the dial further signed for Marchand-Mercier Vacher, Boulevard des Italiens, the lower case with a relief depicting the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Height 25 1/2 x width 16 1/2 x depth 6 1/2 inches.
Condition
The clock winds, runs and strikes well when the hands are advanced manually. It has not been inspected by a clock technician or tested for duration or accuracy of timekeeping. It needs some adjustment because it strikes slightly off the quarter-hour increments when the hands are advanced. The case in good, attractive condition with some variation in the gold color and patina. Missing its back cover.
