Carved Contemporary Flintlock Jaeger Rifle
John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)
.40 caliber. 32" octagonal to round barrel. SN: NSN. Finish left in the white. Walnut stock with rococo style carvings to grip and forearm, with carved cheek rest to left side. Flintlock rifle with notch rear sight and a gilded front sight cast in the shape of a horse's head. Item features wax-cast brass fittings including a rococo style sideplate and a fitting depicting an eagle fighting a dragon or serpent to cheek rest. Includes a ramrod and brown leather sling. Does not have a forend cap.

Condition
Good to very good, appears unfinished. Bore is bright. Barrel shows tooling marks and some light scratches overall. Stock also shows scattered light scratches and mars. Action is functional.
