Contemporary Flintlock Fowler in the Style of a Catalan Escopeta

John B. Derrick (American, b.1936)

20 gauge. 32" octagonal to round barrel. SN: NSN. Browned metal finish. Hardwood (possibly walnut or cherry) stock has carved foliate rococo scroll to butt and forearm, with hooked Catalan style butt. Miquelet flintlock fowler with double brass barrel bands including one cast with a sight bead. Stock features wax-cast brass fittings with ornate and highly detailed filigree intertwined with what appears to be insects and foliate motifs. Includes red wood ramrod with ebony tip.

Condition
Good to very good. Bore is bright. Finish has sprinkled pitting overall. Wood stock is in good condition, with some crude details and slight gaps around brass fittings. Action is functional.
