A half-tone portrait of Cleaver fills up the lower left quadrant of the poster, with surrounding text in varying styles reading, "Cleaver for President of the United States of America / ...power to the People...black power to Black People! / Black Panther Party, Peace & Freedom Party."
Though technically not able to run as he was not yet 35, Eldridge Cleaver was elected the presidential nominee for the Peace and Freedom Party in 1968.
