Condition
Chestnut secondary.Width of case 39 inches. In overall good condition. Retains an even color and patina throughout. Retains the original drawer pulls, lock mechanisms and hinges (though the lock mechanism from the prospect door may be a replacement). Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Numerous rosehead nails to the backboards visible. Retains three functioning keys. Age cracks to the sides of the case and lid. One of the drawer runners is replaced. The top long drawer has an old crack across the upper molding, that has been reglued, but appears to be the original stock, running almost the entire length of the drawer. The drawer second from the top has a 12” x 1” patch along the upper left edge and an associated age crack towards the escutcheon plate. The bottom two drawers each show a triangular crack and loss in an upper corner, one the upper left corner, the other on the upper right corner. Each foot facing appears to be previously cracked and reglued, with the proper black left facing having lost approximately the lower 2” to 3”.
