[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY - MILITARIA]. Sixth plate daguerreotype of a possible fireman wearing a red-tinted jacket, possibly identified.
Seated portrait of a young man wearing a red-tinted uniform or work shirt, light-colored pants, and a glazed or tarred wheel cap with indecipherable insignia. On a table next to him there are two books, one positioned with with the spine facing the camera, the other turned the opposite way. (Tarnishing to edges, significant spotting to plate and mat; unsealed, with some remnants of original seals.) Housed in a leatherette case with ink inscribed label reading, in part, "Lieutaud / [?]ernest / 1855."
