[EARLY PHOTOGRAPHY]. A group of 15 sixth plate daguerreotypes by New York and Boston daguerreotypists, incl. ANSON, CHASE, and PLUMBE.


Seated portrait of a woman wearing a brooch and holding a piece of paper with both hands. The tablecloth next to her is tinted blue and red. (Some spotting, minor tarnish to edges; reglazed, resealed 2022.) Housed in a fully separated pressed paper case. Mat stamped "White's." -- Seated portrait of a young woman wearing a myriad of accessories including multiple long gold strands hanging from her neck. She holds a skinny, cylindrical object that has a red-tinted tip in one hand on her lap. (Tarnishing, wiping, spotting, and other imperfections to plate, spotting to mat, no preserver present; resealed.) Housed in a leatherette case. Mat stamped "Plumbe." -- Seated portrait of a well-dressed couple holding hands and looking rather apprehensive. (Tarnishing and some scratching to edges, minor spotting; resealed.) Housed in a half pressed paper case. Mat stamped "Holmes / 289 Broadway." -- And 12 other sixth plate daguerreotypes with mats or pads marked for photographers E(noch) Long, (Lorenzo G.) Chase, G.D.
