A Set of Ten George III Green and White Painted and Parcel Gilt Lattice Back Dining Chairs

Circa 1780

comprising two armchairs and eight side chairs, each with cane-upholstered seats.
Height of armchairs 35 1/4 x width 24 x depth 21 inches; height of side chairs 35 x width 19 1/2 x depth 21 inches.

Condition
Seat height 16 inches.Each in overall fine and usable condition. Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Traces of old worm visible in few areas. Few age cracks throughout. The cane seats likely later and are largely intact, though one armchair and two side chairs will need to have their caning redone. Corner glue blocks replaced on most joints. Retaining a fairly even painted surface throughout, thought eh gilding and paint likely touched up and not the original treatment. The upholstered cushions showing staining, discoloration and other surface wear.
