A Pair of George III Parcel Gilt and Cream Painted Pedestals
Late 18th/ Early 19th Century
Height 55 3/8 x width 11 3/4 x depth 11 1/2 inches.
This lot is located in Philadelphia.
Condition
Each in overall usable and stable condition. Retaining a fairly even patina throughout. Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Age cracks visible, but mostly in areas where wood planks have been laminated together. Craquelure and flaking to the painted surface throughout. One example has a piece of the applied leaf decoration at the capitol detached, but retained. The other example having lost an applied flower around the upper collar. Each example showing repairs to the applied decoration with areas regilt or with applied gold paint.
