Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasty, 664-343 B.C.

Condition
Inspected under UV light and 10x loupe. Areas of encrustation, particularly along central top. Areas of loss and severe weathering to pigment. Board is warped with some age slits not affecting overall stability. Overall in fine and attractive condition. See additional images.

EW576]Donald Wonder (1938-2023), New Jersey, where acquired from the above, 3 November 2006; thence by descent.This polychrome fragment is adorned with four distinct registers. On the far right, it depicts Imset, one of the Four Sons of Horus. To the left, three columns of hieroglyphic inscriptions unfold. These inscriptions are funerary, featuring the phrases: "Words spoken by Osiris," "the songstress of Amun," and "Imsety."
