A Japanese Satsuma Type Enameled Pottery Miniature Vase and Covered Koro, Meiji Period

Meiji Period (1868-1912)

The double gourd vase, signed Shizan, decorated with various figures below a cloud of butterflies, floral band at the top, 'brocade' lappets at the foot; the koro, signed Seikozan, decorated with a band of figures viewing cherry blossoms, stylized border above and below, the cover decorated with peonies and other blossoms.

Vase in generally good condition, some wear to gilding; Cover of Koro with repaired breaks, the base with very minor wear.
