A Liverpool Transfer-Printed Creamware 'George Washington / Liberty and Independence' Pitcher

English, 19th Century

one side with a portrait of George Washington surrounded by allegories of Justice, Liberty, and Victory, within a chain of fifteen states; the opposite with poetic verse and imagery including a Phrygian cap and laurel wreath.
identified Edward Brown beneath the spout.
Height 8 inches.

Condition
In overall fine and stable condition. Mouth rim with gilt loss throughout and small chip above handle. Light rubbing to handle. Hairline to body near spout.
