Plant Army Revolver
.42 Cup Fire. 5.5" ribbed octagonal barrel. SN: 1097. Blued finish, silvered brass frame, two-piece smooth walnut and rosewood grip panels. Single action metallic cartridge revolver with six-chambered un-fluted front loading cylinder, rear of frame mounted ejector rod, frame notch rear sight and German silver blade front sight. Plant marking on barrel rib, Merwin & Bray marking on left of barrel. Patent date markings on cylinder. Left grip panel of rosewood and numbered to the revolver, right grip panel of walnut and unnumbered.

Condition
Fair. Bore moderately oxidized and pitted with visible rifling. Metal with traces of blue and silver and hints of old touch up blue on the barrel as well. Markings mostly legible. Not mechanically functional. Action needs a gunsmith's attention. Arbor pin release button is missing and a punch must be used to remove the pin. Grips with wear, left panel numbered to the gun, right panel unmarked and of walnut rather than rosewood.
