**Smith Corona Model 1903-A3

.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 4839654. Parkerized metal arsenal refinish with stamped small parts set in walnut straight wrist stock and mounting adjustable aperture rear notch and pinned front blade with hood. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle charged with stripper clips. Item shows standard U.S./SMITH-CORONA/MODEL 03-A3 model mark to receiver and S C/{Ordnance Bomb}/11 43, the latter indicating the barrel was made by Smith Corona in November, 1943. P mark struck into the forward barrel with circle P to the wrist. Left wrist is struck with the US Ordnance {Crossed Cannons} mark beside the boxed FJA cartouche of arms inspector Frank J. Atwood. Further marks include OG to left butt, indicating it was rebuilt by Ogden Arsenal, R to the sight hood, and four numerical stamps to forend near magazine well. Markings include: 8 in triangle, 4 in circle, 4 in square, and 6 in diamond. Item mounts a flat checkered trapdoor buttplate, and a Pattern 1905 style sling.
