**Possible Bringback Chinese Type 53 Carbine

7.62x54mmR. 20.2" barrel length. SN: A17986. Blued metal finish with polished bolt set in straight wrist wood stock with full length upper handguard, finger grooves, and mounting a sidefolding cruciform spike bayonet. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle with adjustable tangent rear notch and post and globe front sights. Barrel shank is struck with the marking for Factory 296 followed by a date mark of 1953.10. Serial numbers match on the barrel shank, bolt, and magazine floorplate. Buttplate is struck with Soviet Cyrillic prefixed serial number. The lack of visible importer markings on this rifle suggests it is most likely a bringback rifle, and may have been captured in Vietnam or Korea. Lacks bringback papers.

This lot is located in Cincinnati.

Good. Bore is Frosty with strong rifling throughout, and some scattered patina. Metal finish shows a patch of pitting to the right barrel shank, and some flecked oxidation on the bolt handle.
