**Incomplete Gewehr 43 Rifle

World War II

7.92x57mm. 21.5" barrel length. SN: 7865o. Black painted finish over phosphate set in sanded laminated wood stock mounting adjustable tangent rear notch and front blade sights. Incomplete short-stroke gas piston driven semi-automatic rifle fed by semi detachable double stack magazines. Forward receiver is struck G. 43 duv 44 followed by {Eagle/274} waffenamt and WWII German Eagle acceptance proof. The duv mark indicates this rifle was made in Berlin by Luebeck. Rifle is missing the buttplate, muzzle nut, cleaning rod, actuator rod, actuator rod spring, connecting rod, gas cylinder, dustcover, and upper handguard. The handguard has been cut down. Stock sanded to an excessively thin wrist. Bolt housing is cracked. Trigger is missing internal plate, leaving trigger components exposed.

Poor to Fair. Bore is Dark with patina throughout, some oxidation, and scattered pitting. Metal finish has flaked off of the barrel with brown patina forming in losses. Item shows further losses to small parts with brown patination. Stock excessively sanded with the semi-pistol grip nearly obliterated and some scattered dents. Rifle is missing the buttplate, muzzle nut, cleaning rod, actuator rod, actuator rod spring, connecting rod, gas cylinder, dustcover, and upper handguard. The handguard has been cut down. Bolt housing is cracked. Trigger is missing internal plate, leaving trigger components exposed.
