**Colt Model 1908 Hammerless Vest Pocket Pistol in Box

.25 ACP. 2" barrel length. SN: 176828. (Mfg ca 1918) Blued metal finish with polished barrel, case colored trigger and grip safety, and mounting checkered black synthetic COLT logo grips with {Rampant Colts}. Simple blowback operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Left slide is struck with two-line address and patent reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A./PAT'D AUG. 25. 1896 APR. 20. 1897 DEC. 22. 1903 JAN. 25. 1910 with the {Rampant Colt} mark struck behind the cocking serrations. Right slide shows caliber and model marking COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 25. Comes in black cardboard box with COLT AUTOMATIC PISTOL/.25 end label. Interior of the box has glued in advert for Colt medallion grips. Included with box is the owner's manual.

Condition

Good. Bore is Bright with a layer of grease and oil that should clean to Very Bright with crisp rifling throughout. Metal finish shows brown patina forming on the forward barrel, on the gripstraps, and on the triggerguard. Blued finish is weak with the grips and upper slide showing a gray to brown patina, some scuffs and abrasions. Case colors still visible on flanks of the trigger and grip safety. Box exhibits some cracks at all corners with flaking and stains overall. Lid has lost two sides with one having split off and remaining fixed to box. Manual exhibits oil stains, toning overall, and cracking to the folds.
