Cook's Arsenal Works Bronze Mortar with Wood Block Mount
2.125" caliber. 6" barrel length. SN: NSN. Bare bronze finish overall with black painted iron carry handles set on a wood block. Builder's plaque reads COOK'S/ARSENAL WORKS within a {Cannon}. Item struck with the number 6 above the muzzle. Top of the mortar cast with a {Crown/GR}, the appropriate mark for arms made during the reign of King George III.

Condition
Good. Bore shows some firing residues with tarnish and some blue green oxidation. Metal finish is tarnished overall with few spots of bronze rust. Nick to t he left edge of the muzzle. Some flaking of the paint on the carry handles. Block shows multiple deep cracks running through the center, compromising its integrity. In house shipping is not available for this lot.
