.45 ACP. 4.25" barrel length. SN: 2005610. Blued metal refinish with polished barrel mounting checkered walnut Colt medallion grips. Short-recoil operated single action autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines that has been customized and rebuilt by Armand Swenson. The slide and frame are struck with the two-line A.D. SWENSON/GARDENA, CALIF., while the flanks of the ambidexterous safety are marked A.D. SWENSON/FALL BROOK, CALIF. Original manufacturer markings include REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A. on left slide, FJA initials for inspector Frank J. Atwood on left frame, and M 1911 A1 U.S. ARMY to the right frame. Item converted to Commander size and features numerous modifications consistent with Swenson's work including: ambidexterous and extended safety lever, bordered matting on the upper slide, matted rear slide, checkering to forward gripstrap, Smith & Wesson K-38 rear notch and front ramp sights, squared off and checkered triggerguard, vertically serrated adjustable trigger, beveled magazine well, and full length guide rod. {MODERN}
