*Custom Springfield 1903 Sporting Rifle with Griffin & Howe Mounts, attributed to John Oberlies
.30-06. 24" barrel. SN: 1496202. Blued finish, jeweled bolt, textured bolt knob, checkered pistol grip stock with Schnabel forend. Bolt action fixed magazine fed sporting rifle built on a US Model 1903 action with an adjustable Lyman receiver mounted peep sight, ramped hooded front sight blade, Griffin & Howe quick detach side mount scope mount. While not Oberlies marked, the rifle is typical of his work and was almost certainly built by him. {MODERN}

Condition
Fine. Bore fine and bright with crisp rifling. Metal with most of the applied blue intact, showing some minor thinning and minute high edge wear. Mechanically functional action. Fine stock is crisp with some lightly scattered handling marks.
