Description

*Beretta Model 62 BM 59 Rifle with Folding Stock

.308. 19" barrel length. SN: 002577. Parkerized metal finish with brown Bakelite pistol grip, walnut forend and upper handguard, and sidefolding steel buttstock. Long stroke piston driven gas operated rifle using a rotating bolt lockup and fed by detachable box magazines. Manufacturer marks to rear receiver read P. BERETTA/MADE IN ITALY. Left receiver struck MOD. 62. 308 W BERBEN CORP. N.Y. N.Y. Item features standard Italian firing proofs to the right barrel and BM59 marking to the operating rod. Imported by Bergen Corp in the 1980s, the BM62 was manufactured by Beretta for the civilian market as a semi-automatic only version of the BM59. These were made available in multiple configurations, including with the folding stock seen on Alpine and Paratrooper versions of the BM59. Less than 2,000 BM62 rifles were imported into the United States, making them far more scarce than semi-automatic converted BM59 rifles. {MODERN}
