Description
A Group of Worcester (Flight, Barr and Barr) Porcelain Painted and Parcel-Gilt Table Wares
Circa 1815
Each painted with blooming roses and centering a blazon with lion's head wearing an ermine collar atop a baton, comprising: a pair of three-part entrée dishes, a serving platter, six dinner plates and five soup plates
Width of platter 18 1/2 inches.
Property from the Personal Collection of Carol Ann Blumenthal Klotz, Atlanta, Georgia
Condition
The set is in overall good appearance retaining expected wear/flaws commensurate with age and use, in particular in the form of (in most cases) minor gilt loss to the gilt decorated rims. Other condition issues of note: one bowl retains a break/crack and corresponding repair (please see condition photos) with one plate which retains a hairline crack which does not appear to have separated but is visible. One plate displays significantly more gilt loss than the others. One three-part serving dish displays evidence of potential restoration to its underside (see condition photos). The platter and three-part serving dishes are in otherwise very good appearance.
