A Chippendale Ribbon-Back Mahogany Side Chair Associated with Adam Eckfeldt (1769-1852), Philadelphia, PA
circa 1790-1800
With old paper label affixed to interior back seat rail, inscribed, "Adam Eckfeldt/ Born June 15, 1769/ Died Feb. 6, 1852/ First Chief Coiner of Philadelphia Mint and Appointed by Washington", front seat rail marked "II," slip seat with needlework upholstery, marked "V."
Height 38 x width 21 1/4 x depth 19 3/4 inches.
