A Federal Cherry Chest of Drawers

Early 19th Century

with plain rectangular top, over a series of four graduated long drawers, on shaped apron with straight French feet.
Height 38 1/4 x width 40 1/2 x depth 20 inches.

This lot is located in Philadelphia.

Condition
top is two board, and shows signs of honest wear commensurate with age and use including an age crack to right-facing side, some old darkened spots and scratches; drawers glide easily, but don't sit exactly flush with case in some areas; the brasses are possibly original, with no additional screw holes noted; patch to bottom back edge of left-facing side, the left-facing side also with a couple small repairs or areas of fill; the right-facing side showing evidence of repairs / mends to back foot facing; some support and corner blocks to underside possibly replaced, and some showing evidence of reinforcement over time, the back foot supports along back side with some age cracks; some splitting and repaired splits to stiles along both front sides
