Goldeneye, Oracabessa Bay, Jamaica, 1960. Group of two original photographs, taken by Fleming's long-time friend Hugo Pitman. Each measuring 4 3/4 x 6 1/2 in. (121 x 165 mm). Manuscript on verso of each, describing each photo.
Group of two original and unpublished photos depicting Ian Fleming and friends on the beach at his Goldeneye home in Jamaica, where he wrote his famed James Bond novels. Taken by Hugo Pitman, Fleming's close and longtime friend and mentor. One photo depicts Fleming with Hugo's wife, Reine, in an inflatable kayak and donning a snorkel and spear gun, while the other shows a smiling Fleming next to Barrington Roper, champion swimmer of the West Indies, holding a freshly caught great barracuda.
