A Federal Three-Piece Coin Silver Tea Service

John Targee (C. 1775-1850), New York, New York, Circa 1805


comprising a teapot, a covered sugar dish, and a creamer, all with cast and chased bands of foliate and floral motifs, the teapot and sugar dish with acorn finials, engraved with monogram, "JEW," marked to undersides.

Height 9 1/2 x width 11 3/4 x depth 5 1/4 inches (teapot), Total weight: 65.71 oz. t.

Condition
In overall fine and usable condition. Light surface wear visible in areas throughout commensurate with use. Traces of tarnish visible. Few dents or minor dings throughout. The handle of the teapot is slightly loose. The internal rim of the covered sugar is slightly bent, but it still closes.
