A rare view of the funeral procession on Pennsylvania Avenue as it approaches Capitol Hill. Three rows of soldiers can be seen standing in the street, having paused their march. Uncredited, but penciled on verso, "Pennsylvania Av. Colored troops." We cannot verify the identify of the troops pictured. -- 6 views of the US Capitol and grounds featuring mourning decorations, including multiple views of the capitol dome, columns wrapped in black fabric, and statuary. 4 of these with Anthony labels. -- 2 views of the Treasury building with its columns wrapped in black fabric, one showing the grounds from the side of the building, titled on recto "No. 424. Looking down Penn. Av. from Treasury Building, Washington, D. C." and credited to John P. Soule on verso; the other showing the east front of the building, with early comers to the funeral sitting on the portico, holding umbrellas and saving their spots for the upcoming event, credited to Anthony on verso label. -- And a view of Ford's Theater, draped in mourning on the day of the funeral.
