**Springfield Model 1903 with 1909 Barrel Date


.30-06. 24" barrel length. SN: 224130. Parkerized metal arsenal refinish overall in straight wrist walnut stock with finger grooves to forend and flat trapdoor buttplate. Bolt action internal magazine fed repeating rifle mounting adjustable rear ladder and front blade sights. Receiver is struck U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903. Barrel marking reads SA/{Ordnance Bomb}/6-09, indicating the barrel was finished in June, 1909. Stock markings include a circle P to the wrist, AAR rebuild marking of Augusta Arsenal, and a further arsenal mark that is illegible due to aggressive sanding of stock. {C&R}

Condition
Fair to Good. Bore is Dark with patina throughout and scattered pitting. Metal finish shows a brown patina forming overall with some Parkerized finish remaining on seams and receiver. Stock shows weak edges from sanding, raised granular structure, and dents overall. Right wrist has a portion of a shim through reinforcing bolt that has broken away, weakening wrist.WARNING: Broken shim to wrist may have compromised its strength. Item should be inspected by a gunsmith before attempting to shoot.
