Condition
One base has an old crack and needs repair for stabilization. Both have some minor wear, pitting and small scattered areas of verdis gris to the gilt metal. There are scattered inclusions in the stone overall.
Provenance
On Maison Mottheau: Maison Mottheau was a renowned Parisian bronzier operating in the late 19th Century. Most well known for their light fixtures of exceptional quality they also produced elaborate bronze mounts for many important French and Italian cabinet makers and sculptors of the day. Maison Mottheau was critically acclaimed at the 1900 Universal Paris Exhibition for their "Torchere Lumineuse".
