Ernst Fuchs (Austrian, 1930-2015) worked in various media during his career including painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet, singer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. He and his classmates Rudolf Hausner, Arik Brauer, Anton Lehmden, and Wolfgang Hutter were co-founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. In 1972, he acquired the derelict Otto Wagner Villa in Hütteldorf which was incorporated as the Ernst Fuchs Museum in 1988.
