Provenance
Catalog noteCold-painted Bronze is a technique in which the artist covers the metal with chemicals like cupric chloride and ammonium chloride to create a bluish green patina. Originating in the Art Deco era of the 1920's, this technique deepens the forms of the Popliteo series into a rich, visual and textural celebration of the organic nature of food and fruit surfaces.
