**Colt Police Positive (1st Issue) Revolver

.38 Special. 5" barrel length. SN: 271984. (Mfg ca 1923) Blued metal finish with polished hammer flanks mounting checkered black hardrubber COLT logo grips. Double action six-shot hand ejector revolver mounting half moon front blade and topstrap notch rear sights. Left sideplate struck with a non-circled {Rampant Colt} logo with frame showing the standard VP monogram proof to the forward triggerguard web. Left barrel is marked POLICE-/POSITIVE. 38 SPECIAL. Top of the barrel struck with two-line address and patent reading COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A./PAT'D AUG. 5. 1884. JUNE 5. 1900. JULY 4. 1905.

Condition
Good to Very Good. Bore is dirty with some residues that should clean to Very Bright with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish displays some brown patinated spots to the cylinder, some abrasions on the cylinder flanks, and a light turn ring. Item further exhibits brown patina forming on gripstraps, some flecking and straps to topstrap, and below the barrel. Some abrasions to the flanks of the muzzle. Hammer flanks show some brown streaks and gray flecks forming. Grips with some light scratches and a skip to the checkering on the left panel. Action exhibits good timing and a tight lockup.
